About us

The Hope Job Club is a project that supports job seekers in the East Grinstead community. We are a voluntary organisation, staffed entirely by local people.

Since 2019 we have provided a drop-in service every Friday from 1-3pm at the Jubilee Community Centre, East Grinstead. During these sessions you can meet one of our team (we call them volunteer buddies - they buddy up with you for your journey) to discuss the challenges you are having with your job search.

Coronavirus Update

5th January 2021: We have taken the difficult decision to pause face to face appointments once again. However, we will still be open from 1-3pm every Friday offering virtual sessions. You can register for either a video or phone appointment online with one of our volunteers.

We are hoping to return to some level of normal service as soon as the situation allows. But in the meantime we are still here to support you.

  • We are actively recruiting new volunteers to support us through this time, and beyond. If you have time to spare this is a great way to help people in need. It will only require a couple of hours once a week, fortnight, or even month.

  • We are preparing to receive jobseekers back to see us in an appropriate and socially distanced manner.

  • We have been offering phone and video support and will continue to do so during this time.

Do you have a few hours a week, a fortnight or even a month that you can spare to support someone looking for work?

We need you! We are looking for volunteers with business experience who are IT and Internet savvy.

In particular, it would be great if you're familiar with helping people review and build their CVs, review job applications, or with interview and recruitment practices. To find out more about volunteering, take a look at our volunteer page and role overview.

If you're interested, please do get in touch with us today to have a chat.
